Räihälä's second string quartet bears the subtitle Jobimão which of course refers to the Brazilian bossa nova king Antonio Carlos Jobim. The work is relatively small to be a string quartet and lasts under ten minutes. The last third of the piece is a fully tonal bossa nova in Jobim's style, however it is completely written by Räihälä. The first two-thirds sounds a lot more "modern" but in fact even there the material in music is fetched from the mentioned bossa nova, although it requires a lot to hear the connection right away. Räihälä wrote the second string quartet in only couple of weeks in autumn 2000. The first performance was heard in October 2000 at the Järvepää Sibelius Week, played by the Uusinta String Quartet.
